Dota 2 patch 7.25 brings two new Aghanim’s Scepters for Snapfire and Void Spirit. Along with them, 7.25 also reworked many Scepters. This article will evaluate the power of the new and remade Scepters in Dota 2 patch 7.25!

1) Dazzle (5/10)

When you cast a skill, you will automatically launch an attack on 8 units on the opponent’s side (up to 800 unit range).

Dazzle is now the hero with the most Aghanim’s Scepter rework – three at the moment. The sad thing is that unlike the previous ones, this time is not strong. Indeed, Aghanim’s Scepter before 7.25 is considered the best – when Shadow Wave has a basic dispel. The new Scepter, which gives Poison Touch the first hand attack to get the first damage tick, is probably only suitable for Dazzle to go mid. With support Dazzle, you want to be in a further position, maybe adding Aether Lens and Telescope, then spam Shadow Wave and then use Shallow Grave on dying teammates. However, this Scepter also has tactical potential, if Dazzle gets on the Divine Rapier and plays as a Medusa. Or combo Io and Dazzle to combine attacks from all directions while buffed with Overcharge.

2) Terrorblade (6/10)

Metamorphosis Scepter is now a standalone skill you gain during Metamorphosis. Cooldown 90 seconds.

When TB’s Scpepter was first introduced in patch 7.22, we gave it a 4/10. With the new change, it has gotten a little better, but still not a Scepter worth picking up in the first six items. With a cooldown of 90 seconds, it can only be used once during Metamorphosis. At least for now, it can be used when TB wants, like dying with the appearance of many enemy heroes beside him. Depending on the match situation, it can be either the seventh item or the third Roshan.

3) Juggernaut (6.5/10)

Offers Swift Slash. Considered a mini Omnislash that lasts 0.8 seconds. Cast Range 650. Cooldown 15 seconds. Mana cost 100.

This is the Scepter that makes players mistaken for its power. With a strong Juggernaut, the mini Omnislash can instantly knock out a support, but as a position 1 hero, Juggernaut doesn’t really need it. Getting on Scepter forces you to sacrifice a shot for an offensive or defensive item, and it doesn’t seem to benefit position 1 much. Omnislash depends on Juggernaut’s damage and attack speed. If you follow the Swift Slash path, Jugg will sacrifice potential damage from Omnislash and hand attacks, which is not really worth it. It could be good if it’s the 7th item, but not worth your priority.

4) Specter (7/10)

Shadow Step scepter ability cooldown reduced from 70 to 35.

The reason this Scepter is so good lies in its hunting potential when it comes to solo play with other global heroes like Nature’s Prophet or Zeus. It’s like Haunt, except it needs an object. The range is the whole map, if the enemy hero is in the ward’s line of sight, there is a high chance that they will be targeted. Thundergod’s Wrath and then Shadow Step being used is also a good combo, as are stealth heroes like Riki or Bounty Hunter scouting for Specter’s prey. Specter and Zeus’ map-wide strategy was very popular in patch 6.86, and could be a reality now: Zeus can unleash Nimbus after Specter uses Shadow Step. Specter’s advantage in this situation is that the hero doesn’t need the usual amount of damage to be effective. Radiance and the items and talent tanks will help Specter last, while Aghanim’s Scepter will provide an additional amount of HP. Of course, this is not an item for every game, and you have to see what heroes your teammates have.

5) Mars (7.5/10)

God’s Rebuke Scepter now always reduces cooldown, not just during Arena of Blood

Scepter God’s Rebuke cooldown increased from 1.4 seconds to 3.5 seconds

God’s Rebuke cooldown reduced forever from 10 seconds to 3.5 seconds. This skill deals a lot of damage, especially when you combine it with the +80% God’s Rebuke crit talent. While the old Scepter wasn’t bad, it didn’t do much better when the Arena of Blood wasn’t being used. The new upgrade has the potential to deal massive amounts of damage in teamfights.

6) Void Spirit (7.5/10)

Add Scepter. Resonant Pulse now has a charge, with two charges and silences the enemy for 2 seconds.

Just silencing the Resonant Pulse is not enough to get Void Spirit on the green stick, but two charges will encourage you to build this item. It guarantees 4 seconds of silence if the two charges are used properly, plus 440 magic damage (640 with level 15 talent). It’s effective against heroes that are hard to chase with burst damage, or finish off supports quickly in the back.

7) Snapfire (8/10)

Added skill Scepter, Gobble Up. Allows you to swallow a creep or your hero and spit it at an enemy, stuns your opponent for 1.5 seconds in the area and creates a puddle that deals 100 DPS for 3 seconds. Pieces can stay in the dragon’s belly for up to 3 seconds. Effect radius 400. Cooldown 40 seconds. Cast range 150.

The description says 150 cast range, but that’s for swallowing. This move makes the target immune to damage, can be used to save allies that are stunned or dying, taunted by Berserker’s Call or Duel. But the most interesting point is in skill 2, “Spit Out”, which is used to spit out objects within a maximum range of 3000! It is powerful and the perfect setup for Tidehunter Ravage or Enigma Black Hole. It can be used to save teammates and spit them out somewhere safer. There are many useful ways for this Scepter, not to mention Snapfire also has a skill set to farm green sticks quickly.

8) Bounty Hunter (October 9)

Apply Jinada to Shuriken Toss, increasing the cast range to 650 and reducing the cooldown to 6 seconds.

If you thought Bounty Hunter was annoying before, he’s even more so now. With the new Scepter, Bounty can steal 36 gold (101 with level 20 talent) each time the hero uses Shuriken Toss, reducing it to just 6 seconds of cooldown when holding the green stick. Shuriken also deals 160 bonus magic damage into the initial 375 (440 with level 15 talent) and jumps on every tracked hero. This is just the amount of damage and gold stolen. The question now is what is the best position for Bounty Hunter to maximize Scepter? Position 2 or 3 may be suitable, but with position 4 it takes too long to farm Scepter. Wagamama stole over 15k gold in a 50 minute match – 30k networth thanks to Bounty Hunter!

9) Spirit Breaker (9/10)

Scepter remake. Increases Charge of Darkness’s movement speed by 100 and reduces its cooldown by 5 seconds.

This is the strongest Scepter change in this 7.25. At level 4, Charge of Darkness increases movement speed by 375. Scepter increases this number to 475. Shoes (any) give an extra percentage of movement speed, so the Charge of Darkness value increases even more. With Boots of Travel and Aghanim’s Scepter, Spirit Breaker’s movement speed when charged is 1087, increased to 1333 with Bulldoze! The higher the movement speed, the higher the Greater bash damage, not only the target hit but anyone unlucky enough to stand in the way. And yet, Charge’s cooldown is also reduced, now only 6 seconds when having a green stick, it is very difficult for the opponent to escape. We will see Aghanim’s Scepter get a lot of boost in the upcoming tournaments.
