Dota 2: OG punishes Ceb for racist drama

A few days ago, OG offlane Sebastian ‘Ceb’ Debs got too hot in a pub game and said some bad things about the Russian. Virtus.pro captain Alexey ‘Solo’ Berezin spoke out in defense of the Russian community and made it a hot topic. Ceb later apologized as well, but Solo refused to play at the EPICENTER Major until Valve intervened – Valve then finally stepped in.

Most recently, OG made a decision on Ceb’s case to assure fans and the Dota 2 community that the organization has zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior. The OG made the following decision:

Seb (Sebastian or Ceb) will donate all his winnings from the EPICENTER Major to a charity of his choice and it will be publicly announced. In addition, we fined you one month’s salary. Seb also promised never to let a similar case happen, or else will face a heavier punishment.

The announcement also states that OG is actively working with Virtus.pro to better guide the Dota 2 environment and try to hold a demonstration match between the two teams at EPICENTER.

This is a logical step by OG to eliminate discriminatory behavior from occurring in pub matches. Hopefully in the next few years, the entire Dota 2 community will grow into one big family.
