In the past few days alone, OG’s legendary roster has seen several players leave. Now it’s Sébastien “Ceb” Debs’ turn to announce his departure.
Just two days earlier, Anathan “Ana” Pham confirmed that she would not be returning before The International 2020. After that, Jeese “JerAx” Vainikka decided to leave the team, leaving the team down to three members. And now, just a day later, Ceb said he will no longer be in the main squad.
In his announcement, Ceb talked about his motivations for leaving as well as his future in the OG organization:
“It is time for me to step back and leave the starting lineup. I’ll be taking on a new role in OG where I can help all teams and players level up. Whether it’s DotA or CSGO, OG is now home to great champions. I will use my experience for the better with those talents. I don’t want people to think of this as permanent retirement, even though it may turn out that way. I love the surprises in life; therefore, I will always leave the door open.”
From this announcement, it can be seen that Ceb is still active at OG, but may not return to the official Dota 2 roster.
With the launch of OG True Sight, we can relive some of the great moments from OG at The International 2019 and feel a sense of familiarity as they lifted the Aegis shield twice in a row. Now, the OG roster will be reduced to just two members and we don’t know if the team will be able to qualify for the upcoming Major – there are still three vacancies to fill in this OG roster.
