After two successful years with many valuable updates, Rainbow Six Siege continues to exceed fans’ expectations and become more and more popular. Leveraging the momentum, Ubisoft is gearing up to roll out new content for the game’s third year, adding more maps and two new characters. Thanks to a recent blog post from Ubisoft, Operation Chimera has announced a few more details along with an expected launch date of March 6.

For the first time in Rainbow Six Siege, there will be a co-op shooting mode called Outbreak. Taking place in a town called the Town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, three players will have to work together to fight and neutralize the riot. However, Ubisoft has not revealed which enemies players will face or this could be a wave defense mode. Ubisoft has confirmed that Outbreak will be a limited-time event while also introducing new gameplay mechanics.

Since it was revealed last year, the biggest mystery about Operation Chimera has been the two new characters and Outbreak mode. With this information, players now know that the first character is a Frenchman with the ability to control a drone to check the quarantine area. The second is of Russian origin, it seems they have immigrated there for the purpose of study and research. Notably, the Russian character has the ability to turn off the nanobots within a certain range. That’s what Ubisoft is willing to share before announcing more on February 13 at the Six Invitational.

With good PR and the success of the game after its release, Ubisoft took the first wrong step when announcing plans to add a second loot box to the Outbreak skin collection, and increase the price. for the regular, Gold and Complete Collection editions. Obviously, fans were furious as Rainbow Six Siege was about to enter its third year. The backlash was such that Ubisoft quickly adjusted and announced that it would not increase the price of the regular version, but the Gold and Complete versions will continue to increase the price as planned, starting from February 13, 2018.
