CS:GO is officially free and Battle Royale mode launched

Valve just announced Danger Zone, “a fast-paced battle royale mode into the game CS:GO for players to use their wisdom, skills and resources to fight to the end.” Besides, CS:GO now completely free.

The new mode supports 16 players in solo, and 18 players in duo or in groups of 3. Danger Zone retains the same shooting method as well as weapon parameters in CS:GO. As usual, the match will be short, lasting about 10 minutes. Here are Danger Zone mode details:

• Each player holds an upgradeable tablet (press Tab) to follow other players and access the buy menu

• You start with just one knife – the planes will deliver the weapons you purchase directly to your location.
• Each player publicly wins a landing spot before entering the match.
• Money can be found in the game and you can take hostages to rescue areas.

• There’s only one map right now, Blacksite – it’s small by Battle Royale standards, but quite large for Counter-Strike.

• The map is divided into hexagonal areas, and will be randomly hit by air strikes.
• Ammunition is rare: even the weapons you buy have almost no ammo on them

• Weapon skins in the game will usually be applied in the whole Danger Zone.

Really, the scope in this Blacksite map is too big for the standard CS:GO. Picking up money on the ground (or breaking the safe that requires destruction with C4) is very strange. At least, CS:GO Still keeping the game’s first-person perspective.

Meanwhile, all modes in CS:GO, players will be divided into two matchmaking groups: Prime and non-prime.
