CSGO: FalleN and k0nfig call on developers to change the AUG meta meta

CSGO players Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo and Kristian ‘k0nfig’ Wienecke have called for the current AUG meta to be changed.

The AK-47 and two types of M4 have long been a must-have weapon for riflemen. Until recently, people started switching to AUG after this gun was fixed, became much cheaper.

AUG quickly became a meta, producing moves that were unthinkable in pro play. But not everyone is happy to switch to this weapon.

OpTic Gaming player k0nfig shared his thoughts on the current state of CSGO, saying things were better before the weapon was updated: “CS is better without AUG. It’s true.”

Brazilian player FalleN also agreed that the game has become less tactical since the AUG ‘meta’ came out. He explained: “The game is clearly more about shooting skills than before. I’m not sure if that’s better or just a difference in strength [meta] every time.”

The two analyze some issues about the current state of weapons and how to balance it.

k0nfig specifically sit and spray mechanics always have an advantage in gunfights. “I don’t like the sit and spray from the AUG, they should change it to the same rate of fire and recoil of KREIG (opposing T-side AUG), but keep the AUG damage,” he added.

FalleN gave up and couldn’t think of a new way to balance AUG in the current meta. He explained that opponents now have to be extremely careful when facing AUG.

“Now, the T side has a hard time strafeing and shooting in open areas, because a small mistake can cost a life.”

I ran out of ideas on how to balance it. Fact is terrorists now have a hard time trying to strafe and find kills when opening areas because one error is fatal

k0nfig is not in a hurry to surrender, but calls for CSGO developers.

Looks like they’re not the only ones annoyed with the current meta. When new guns entered the meta in January 2019, FaZe Clan star NiKo shared similar sentiments.

Currently, we have not received any information that CSGO developers plan to change AUG in the near future.
