CSGO: draken officially joins fnatic

draken chính thức gia nhập fnatic - Emergenceingame

Two organizations have confirmed that fnatic has the signature of NiP member William “draken” Sundin. The Swedish AWPer will replace Golden, who was dropped from the team less than a month after switching from IGL to entry fragger.

After joining fnatic, Xizt took over the position of IGL and joined fnatic to attend the ECS Season 5 Finals in London. In this tournament, they soon left in the group stage after two defeats against Liquid.

draken was dropped from the NiP lineup to make way for Jonas “Lekr0” Oloffson. In 15 months playing with Ninja, the former Epsilon member helped the team win DreamHack Open Valencia 2017 and IEM Oakland.

Xizt hopes to unleash the power of draken once again as the two played together from March 2017 until February 2018. Xizt was later replaced by Dennis “dennis” Edman in the NiP main roster.

In an interview with HLTV at the ECS Season 5 Finals, Xizt said the team had a hard time getting the sniper position because JW “didn’t want to be the main AWP all the time”.

“I am very proud and happy to join fnatic,” draken spoke on fnatic’s website.“Not only do I want to play with Xizt again – he has proven himself as one of the best IGLs – but also play against the legends, Krimz, Flusha and JW!

“I had a great time with NiP. It has helped me a lot to study and develop my own way of playing. But now, a new chapter will begin.”

According to fnatic, Golden has been put on the bench so the organization can find other directions for him – he plans to continue his career elsewhere.

“I will always be grateful for the opportunities I have been given, and of course, I want to thank the management and the players at Fnatic.” Golden said.

“My ambitions and goals are huge. Changes like this can take a toll, especially since it’s a first for me, but I’m very motivated to keep playing at the top level.”

“I see this as an opportunity to develop myself as a player and as a leader, and I believe I still have a lot to show people. I need to use the experience I’ve gained to stay on track in the future home that I represent.”

The new fnatic roster will make its debut at ESL One Cologne, from July 3 to 8. The tournament will feature 16 teams with a total prize pool of $300,000.

With the presence of draken, fnatic’s new lineup is as follows:

Sweden Robin “flusha” Rönnquist

Sweden Jesper “JW” Wecksell

Sweden Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson

Sweden Richard “Xizt” Landström

Sweden William “draken” Sundin

Sweden Maikil “Golden” Selim (Substitute)

Sweden Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson (coach)
