CSGO: Astralis regains the world No. 1 throne from EG after winning in Beijing

Astralis has usurped Evil Geniuses to regain the number 1 position in the world on the last chart.

The Danish team returned to the top of the table after going unbeaten at IEM Beijing, beating ViCi, 100 Thieves (twice) and FaZe without losing a single map.

Astralis has her second title in recent achievements, including the StarLadder Major championship, ESL One New York runner-up and top 4 DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019. Astralis currently has 974 points, 152 points higher than EG is in 2nd place – the North American team left early from the group stage at IEM Beijing.

Team North America will have four LANs by the end of the year, one more than Astralis. The two can only meet at the ECS Season 8 Finals, at Arlington, and the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, at Odense.

Evil Geniuses will have a chance to break the tie at the CS:GO Asia Championship next week, where they are seen as strong contenders for the championship. The team will end the season with EPICENTER, while Astralis plays the final tournament of the year at the BLAST Pro Series Global Final.
