Not only facing Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck also has many competitors in the category of PC Handheld Gaming.

Over the past week, the launch of the Steam Deck has gone viral on social media. With an affordable starting price and strong backing from Valve, the Steam Deck promises to be a formidable competitor for the Nintendo Switch.

Whether the Steam Deck will actually beat the Switch is still unclear, but it can be seen that this machine will also receive a lot of competition from other Handheld PC Gaming consoles.

Below will be the Steam Deck’s competitors.

GPD Win 3 was once considered by many gamers around the world as the second choice (with Nintendo Switch being the first choice) on the Handheld market before the Steam Deck launched.

Released this year, GPD Win 3 comes in two configuration options both with a 1TB NVMe 3.0 SSD (PCIe 4.0 drives are also supported), 16GB of LPDDR4-4266 RAM, and a quad-core Core i5 1135G7 model, eight threads from Intel with 4.2 GHz boost or Core i7 Model 1165G7 with 4.7 GHz boost. Both chips are equipped with Intel Xe graphics to provide a good gaming experience.

In terms of gaming performance, Indiegogo says that the Core i5 and i7 models can average 42 fps and 49 fps respectively in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as 47fps and 61 fps in the game Metro Exodus. However, the manufacturer did not detail what settings were used in the test. If playing at 720p resolution and low graphics, this is entirely possible.

Price: 999 USD.

The Aya Neo is touted as the world’s first 7nm handheld gaming device. Coming to market in March, this is another relatively modern option, and comes with the red team’s Zen 2 architecture, for AMD enthusiasts.

The machine is equipped with a six-core, six-thread AMD Ryzen 5 4500U APU, with a boost speed of 4.0GHz, and 16GB of LPDDR4X-4266 RAM. Buyers can choose between a 512GB model or a 1TB model, and there are two color options for each (black or white).

In terms of gaming performance, this 720p device is said to be able to handle Cyberpunk 2077 at low settings at 20 fps, according to GBAtemp. It can even play Horizon Zero Dawn at medium settings around 30 fps and Outriders at 23 fps in low/medium.

The price is 925 ~ 1025 USD.

OnexPlayer is one of the few handheld PC gaming devices with high resolution, but the accompanying weight is relatively heavy at 820g. Powered by a hugely successful Indiegogo campaign, OnexPlayer had three options at its initial release: Standard Edition, Pro Edition, and Ultimate Edition.

Each tier comes with a different Intel Tiger Lake SoC: Core i7 1135G7, Core i7 1165G7, or Core i7 1185G7. They’re paired with 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB NVMe SSD storage and backed by 16GB of LPDDR4X-4266 RAM and a touchscreen to boot.

The configuration we tested is slightly different from the available configurations, but overall, we found the machine to be quite reliable at 720p, if playing at 2560×1600 resolution will not be very stable.

With graphics set to low in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, OnexPlayer averaged 35 fps and stabilized at 60 fps in GTA V. This is performance expected from a handheld — don’t expect it, basically. Waiting to play Cyberpunk at 1600p.

At release, OnexPlayer models cost $1059, $1158, and $1599, respectively.
