Street Fighter 5 is preparing to release the second DLC character since the launch of the Arcade Edition version. Blanka, the green-skinned warrior who first debuted in Street Fighter 2, will return in the game. Today, Capcom announced more details about Blanka, including a new trailer and when the character can be downloaded. Street Fighter 5 players can get the Blanka character on February 20th.
Blanka may not be the most famous character in Street Fighter, but he is one of the fighters that everyone knows. The game’s producer, Yoshinori Ono, brings the Blanka toy character with him to every event he attends, takes pictures with crowds, and uses the toy to make future announcements. Capcom guarantees the character will be similar to the original version of Street Fighter 2.
Many of Blanka’s classic moves from Street Fighter 2 to Street Fighter 4 will return to the character in Street Fighter 5. These include the famous Electric Thunder move and many other spinning attacks. Blanka’s move in Street Fighter V is Coward Crouch, which allows him to duck to dodge attacks, like a hadouken. And the character’s Critical Art: combine electricity and turn to deal massive damage.
There are three new skins for Blanka in this release, all of which are featured in the trailer. For Story Custome, Blanka wears a “Blanka” doll costume. Battle Custome shows the character wearing Amazon armor, in 10 different colors. And finally Nostalgia Custome: the classic version of Blanka from Street Fighter 2.
Players can buy Blanka in many different ways, the simplest is paying $5.99. Blanka is worth 100,000 Fight Money points, and can be obtained after a period of plowing. In addition, players can get through the Season 3 Character Pass, which includes current characters such as Sakura, and Falke, Cody, G, Sagat for $29.99.
