Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is having the most successful launch week in the history of the series, and that success is not only thanks to the help of next-generation consoles. It’s also the best-selling PC launch in Ubisoft history, even though it’s only available on the Epic games Store and Ubisoft – not Steam.
“Building on initial positive reviews and feedback from players, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sold more than any other game in the series in its first week alone,” Ubisoft said. “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also became the best-selling Ubisoft PC new release, hitting an all-time sales record on the Ubisoft Store.”
Valhalla’s sales success on PC is all the more impressive because it’s the first Assassin’s Creed game to launch since Ubisoft Plus was introduced. Ubisoft Plus is a paid monthly service that allows players to access all of the publisher’s games for $15 USD per month. Obviously, gamers are willing to buy higher priced games to play AAA games.
