Apex Legends adds duo mode in new event

Following in the footsteps of Fortnite and PUBG, Apex Legends will add a duo mode in a new event, starting next week.

The announcement was made on the game’s official Twitter account, with a short trailer showing the two legends fighting together. After adding solo mode in season 2, Respawn continues to experiment with duo mode for season 3. We have no further details on how the match-making system will work.

Maybe it’ll be like Fortnite Duo: set up a two-player team, and if you’re playing alone, you’ll be randomly matched; or solo in duo: alone against other pairs. Or it will be similar to PlayerUnknonw’s Battlegrounds, which requires players to have friends in order to join Duo. Because Apex Legends is more about team play, the game will probably follow the direction of PUBG. Apex also now has a solo starring zombies during the ongoing Halloween called Shadowfall. However, this event will end on November 5, when Duo starts.

Recently, Apex Legends reached a new milestone with 70 million global players. Plus there’s the news that Apex Legends will be on the list of EA games returning to Steam, starting in 2020.

Season 3 begins October 1, and includes the charge rifle from Titanfall and a new Legend named Crypto. This season will end on February 4, 2020.

If you want to practice solo before the duo launches, players can join Shadowfall on Apex Legends from now until November 5.
