After Ragnarok, God of War may be set in Egyptian mythology

Egypt could be God of War’s next destination.

Kratos’ arrival in the realm of Norse mythology at the 2018 God of War event was revealed to be a great moment for fans. Gamers not only get a whole new journey of Kratos, it also opens up more adventures of the God of War.

God of War Ragnarok is set to be the last game in Kratos’ journey in Northern Europe, which is good news for the gaming community when they can side with Kratos father and son in this Midgard land. It’s good that developer Santa Monica has decided not to “milk” the God of War series when there are only two games in the Nordic world instead of three. However, the ending in Ragnarok makes many gamers wonder, will the journey of the father and son Kratos continue and where will they go?

Many theories have been put forward when after Greece and Northern Europe, there are still many other gods on Earth for Kratos to fight. The two theories most supported by the gaming community at the moment are that Kratos will travel to ancient Japan where there are many gods in legend. The second theory is more supported when many people believe that ancient Egypt is the next destination of the Kratos father and son.

Egypt not only helps Kratos feel familiar with his Greek homeland, but also helps gamers feel more curious about an ancient Nile culture. The ancient Egyptian culture had many different gods unique to Kratos’ interactions with such as Set, Horus, Anubis, Ra, Osiris, and many more. Many people will agree that the three most recognizable myths are of Greece, Norse and Egypt, and God of War has set foot in the other two, then it is very likely that Egypt will be the next destination of the world. Back when God of War 2018 was still in development, many of the developers in Santa Monica wanted to focus on Egyptian mythology rather than Norse – it provided a greater contrast to the Greek gods.
