A teenager changed his life by playing games

A good work can even change people’s lives, this is once again proven by Jack’s story. Sharing his story on Twitter, the young gamer said, since 5 years ago after playing Firewatchhe became interested in the job of ranger, this is also the profession he is pursuing.​

It all started in February 2016 when Firewatch was just released, Jack almost played a circuit until he broke the game. He fell in love with the fire alarm towers in the game and started researching them. Jack decided to visit a tower like this with his father in real life, in the past 5 years, he has installed 239 fire alarm towers across the United States.​

Jack recalls, in April 2016 when he was only 12 years old, he became a member of FFLA (Wildfire Warning Association) and the youngest member of the association. In the fall of 2020, he applied to the University of Massachusetts to study at the Amherst campus where he could earn a degree in tourism/conservation and also fire safety certifications.​

It can be said that it was Firewatch that changed Jack’s life and future orientation. On Twitter, the male gamer also thanked the developer Campo Santo: “The game they developed means so much to me, I can’t express it in words. It really changed my life.”​
