Hello Ah Fu, congrats on a pretty successful TI7 tournament with 3rd place on the leaderboard, how are you feeling now after nearly a month?

Hi, the past 2 weeks have been like a dream. Unfortunately, what has happened to me is disappointing compared to before.

As a player who worked really hard to achieve his TI dream, let’s start with the simple things first. Since when and why did you want to become a pro player?

I was an average gamer at 18. When I was 20, I thought that I would be very disappointed if I didn’t do the things I love. That’s what made me a pro player.

First time competing in a professional tournament in 2014 in Nara Stacks. What team is it? Tell us more about the first steps you took to becoming a pro, how did you manage each other, when and why did you break up?

I have a friend, their team lacks 1 player to participate in an amateur tournament. And so I met them. But I can’t remember the reason why I refused to participate. Time flies so fast haha

You’ve spent a year with WG Unity (Warrior Gaming) and I’m pretty sure you’ve also built deep friendships with old teammates. It must have been a difficult time to part with them and especially Ah Jit, who I understand is your best friend, right?

Indeed, it was very painful for me to leave. I am not strong enough to be their leader. I decided to change to a new competitive environment.

Being a SEA player, can you tell us the difference between Chinese and SEA players?

SEA’s style of play is very personal and likes to show off. That is why you will see extremely mobile heroes like Queen of Pain, Tinker and Ember. Whereas in China they play much more teamwork like Tide, BristleBack or Dragon Knight. In fact, it depends on the preferences and playing style of each team.

What does the SEA region need to do to keep talented players and prevent them from leaving the region?

I really have no opinion or idea at all.

How will new tournaments like New Blood affect the world’s Dota 2 scene?

Many amateur players will have the opportunity to showcase their level and talent, along with that perhaps they will have more or less chance to play for a professional team someday.

What suggestions do you have for tournament organizers, organizations and players from the SEA region?

I’m just a player, I don’t know how to organize a complete tournament. So I don’t really have a specific idea. Haha :v

Do you plan to return to SEA in the future?

I will still stay with LFY for the time being.

What will motivate you to return to the SEA region to compete professionally again?

I’m not sure. I will think about this in the future, when the time is right.

What is the first thing you will buy with your TI7 bonus?

Shoes that I like.

Are you planning to go on vacation or travel?

Also nothing special: spending time with my family and with my girlfriend. I like to spend time with my family when I can.
