Hearthstone will remove the 'synergy pick' system in Arena

This change was announced after the ‘Knights of the Frozen Throne’ expansion came out

Blizzard has decided to drastically change the Arena mode in Hearthstone after being criticized a lot from fans.

In this mode, players choose 1 of 3 cards at random, and continue this process until their deck has 30 cards. In the last Knights of the Frozen Throne update, Blizzard added a new system: on the first two cards, your ‘pick’ is limited to only picking cards from ‘synergy cards’ http:// www.heartharena.com/first-picks-synergy-cards – has the ability to combine with other cards of the same type.

The idea at first was that once you’ve picked these 2 ‘synergy’ cards, you’ll know which cards you should pick better in later ‘picks’ to create a well-coordinated deck. But in fact, people criticize that the number of ‘synergy’ cards is too small and it forces me to choose cards that can’t be optimized later.

The good news is that Blizzard has listened, and this system will be dropped in the next update. We don’t know exactly when, just know that it won’t appear in the next major update – some card nerfs.

“This system hasn’t been dropped in the upcoming update… it will be removed in a later update,” Hearthstone designer Mike Donais said on Reddit. “The first two card selection will work the same as the next ‘pick’. This new system will be scrapped.”

Hearthstone fans in this Reddit post are quite happy about this response. “It’s good to have new features and it’s so much better when Blizzard takes feedback and fixes accordingly,” one person wrote. This is a good example of a publisher listening to feedback from the community.
