Over the past few days Valve has received a lot of complaints from gamers about the Immortal drop rate in Treasure III. While Steam Support initially stated that it was not a bug, Valve recently published an article stating that they have found a way to improve the drop rate of rare items.
This update was released by the developer, and the company also explains what happens:
Last night we finally figured out what was causing all of this year’s immortal treasures to be buggy. It affects players who open a large number of treasures, making the drop rate not increase as fast as last year. And with treasure 3’s drop rate lower than both previous treasures, it’s nothing more than a bug for players
Valve decided to compensate the community and correct their mistakes by:
- Fixes
- Treasure I, II, III drop rate changed
- All players who own the Battle Pass get 10 levels for free
Valve also took this opportunity to cool down players’ criticisms and frustrations about the Treasure bonus at level 615. Those who reach this level will receive additional:
— 4x Immortal Treasure I
— 4x Immortal Treasure II
— 4x Immortal Treasure III
One thing Valve has always done well is that they always take responsibility for the mistakes they make and this time was no exception. Accepting errors and changing Treasure’s drop rate is something that not all developers are willing to do. Hopefully this will make the community less angry and continue to look forward to another successful TI season.
