FaZe claimed the 2019 BLAST Pro Series Miami title after a convincing victory over Liquid in just two maps.
Before the finals began, many asked themselves: with Astralis already out of the race, will Liquid be able to break the curse and win their first major championship?
After the undefeated round-robin group stage, Liquid was seen as a confident title contender. However, the North American boys could not find a solution to the FaZe problem. Team Europe completely controls the series. FaZe lifts the first major trophy since EPICENTER 2018, the tournament is almost 6 months away.
With Liquid, after a humiliating defeat to FaZe, the team will definitely have to reevaluate themselves. But before that happens, Liquid must attend ESL Pro League Group B in the next few days.
FaZe started well on the T side, leading 8-0 on the first map before the opponent decided to timeout. After that, Liquid won 2 rounds in a row to reset the opponent’s money.

Team Europe immediately counterattacked with only Cz and Deagle guns, but the boys couldn’t break the Liquid spirit. Liquid tightened their defenses and lowered the score to 5-10.
Phase 4 from Niko widens the gap for FaZe. After regaining their economy, Liquid got themselves a round, but then FaZe decided to end the map, not allowing the opponent to win any more rounds.
Dust2 plays out similar to Mirage, FaZe starts off like flying. Liquid was cornered from the start and couldn’t break through the opponent’s defense. FaZe’s Rain got himself 20-0, with two aces.
Three rounds is what Liquid was able to do in the first half. Moving on to CT, Liquid slowly improved: any round of FaZe’s wins was immediately rebuffed. FaZe was starting to feel pressured, but the quick banana push in round 24 exposed CT’s defensive weakness. Since then, Liquid no longer has the economy to compete against FaZe, having to give up with a result of 12-16.
