FaZe got their first title with a new roster when they defeated NiP 2-0 at the final of BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2019.

More than a month after recruiting Marcelo “coldzera” David for a record transfer fee, FaZe’s project has finally paid off. FaZe has a “habit” of winning when no one expects it, and this time they did it, becoming the only team to win two BLAST tournaments this year, while also taking the top seed for the Global Final.

FaZe performed very well in the group stage with the round robin format and the boys kept that form in the finals. Now, the team is rekindling the ambition to return to the race on the world rankings.

Meanwhile, NiP present at the first LAN final since last year’s BLAST event, also at the same venue. The Swedish team controlled Nuke but wasted 7 map points, allowing FaZe to pull back and push the map to overtime. The Ninja guys understood this win would be their first major title since IEM Oakland 2017, and it looks like that pressure has created a roadblock for the boys. Dust2 was also quite dramatic from the start, but as FaZe gradually settled in, nothing could stop FaZeUp!

FaZe opened the Nuke map convincingly with a pistol round, but the advantage could not last. When NiP has a gun, the game immediately changes. The Swedish team won 6 rounds in a row, scaring the opponent. Things slowly spiraled out of control, but FaZe tightened their defenses later and shortened the gap to 1. The broky rookie with the AWP won the crucial round.

NiP opened the second half strongly, winning 7 rounds in the first 8 rounds to reach the map point. The game seemed to end soon, but suddenly, the Swedish team lost heat. Meanwhile, FaZe accelerated and won continuously to equalize 15-15.

Ninja broke the opponent’s winning streak at overtime, but in the last round of the first overtime, FaZe pulled it back. After switching to CT, FaZe tightened the defense and won 3 rounds, not allowing NiP to react to win the first map by surprise.

Dust2 started with NiP winning the pistol round on T, but FaZe countered with an immediate force-buy and used the winning momentum to lead 5-1. The game then turned into a Teamkill party on NiKo’s side, but they still played well and reached the score of 8-7.

Simon “twist” Eliasson successfully clutched 1v2 in the pistol round. Team Ninja didn’t squander that opportunity and restored the lead, but everything fell apart when the opponent got the money. FaZe took full control of the game, putting an end to the Swedish team when coldzera and NiKo won in a 2v5 situation.
