These are the most famous professional CSGO players banned by VAC from Valve.

VAC ban is the harshest punishment a CSGO player can receive. Although this system does not catch all hackers, if detected, the account will be banned for life. For professional players, this means they cannot compete in the Major, CSGO’s most prestigious tournament.

Simon “smn” Beck

Simon “smn” Beck was a German professional CSGO player who was banned by VAC in late 2014. At that time, he represented German organization Team ALTERNATE, later renamed ALTERNATE aTTaX. He got an initial BAN on ESEA and a VAC not long after.

Hovik “KQLY” Tovmassian

Hovik “KQLY” Tovmassian, a French professional CSGO player, was banned by VAC a few hours after smn. While smn was a lesser-known name, KQLY played for one of the biggest teams in CSGO at that time, Titan.

The ban of KQLY sparked the hunt for hackers in the professional world. Because KQLY is one of the names mentioned by smn, some believe that the rest of the players on the list must have been hacked.

Although KQLY admits to using hacks for only a week, he insists he has never used them in professional competition.

Nikhil “forsaken” Kumawat

Forsaken was caught using aimbot at the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Finals, which not only ended his CSGO career but he also killed the entire Indian CSGO.

At that time, India was one of the most developed markets for CSGO teams. OpTic Gaming took that opportunity to join and sign many Indian pro players, including forsaken.

But forsaken then used aim assist. At eXTREMESLAND, the anti-virus software on the computer detected the hack, forcing the arbitration department to check. forsaken intentionally hides the hack by renaming the file ‘word.exe’.

forsaken was banned for five years by the ESIC, meaning he cannot compete in any tournaments, whether sponsored by Valve or not.

Vinicius “vsm” Moreira

Vinicius “vsm” Moreira is considered Brazil’s next generation CSGO superstar. But there’s a problem holding him back. When he was a 13 year old boy, vsm used hacking software in matchmaking, causing his account to be banned by VAC.

Elias “jamppi” Olkkonen

Like vsm, Elias “jamppi” Olkkonen was involved in an account that was banned by VAC years ago. But jamppi denies ever hacking.

He said he bought this account for a friend who was later banned by VAC for hacking. Although this account is registered under my name, jamppi insists it was not under my control at the time of the ban.

Valve decided to ban those denials. This led jamppi to sue the company to clean up his name. However, Valve still did not remove the VAC ban from jamppi because he violated Steam’s terms of service by sharing accounts if the above is true.

Jamppi is still banned and unable to compete at Valve-sponsored events. He was recently forced to switch to Valorant. After streaming for a while, jamppi signed with Team Liquid to play for their Valorant team.

Joel “emilio” Mako

Getting banned by VAC isn’t bad, but getting banned in the middle of a game, with thousands of followers, is even worse.

Joel “emilio” Mako was a Swedish professional CSGO player. In October 2014, he and the team were competing at the Fragbite Masters. During the match against HellRaisers, emilio suddenly lost connection from the server. More unexpectedly, an automatic message on the screen informed that the reason for the loss of connection was because of the VAC ban.

Caster initially thought this was a game bug. But later on, things became clearer when it was a real BAN command. His team was disqualified and HellRaisers was awarded the victory. emilio denies hacking and tries to prove it. Again, Valve declined to reconsider.
