Iron Danger: Unique RPG that lets you go back in time to avoid death

Imagine a Diablo game that allows you to go back in time to dodge or block the attack that finished your character, and we have Iron Danger. This is a strategy RPG game released by Daedalic Entertainment that will launch on Steam on March 25. Below is the trailer of the game:

Most of the time when playing Iron Danger, you will do familiar jobs like Diablo: run around, swing your sword, use magic and use healing potions. But if you die, you will have the opportunity to go back in time up to 5 seconds to avoid that fate.

It’s not clear how many times you can avoid each fatal situation, but developer Action Squad Studios says you can go back in time “anytime you want, try different tactics and end combine attacks until a reasonable solution is found.”

Below the screen there will be a time bar, dividing the time into 5-second segments. It looks similar to the timeline you use in video editing.

Going back in time isn’t the only standout feature in Iron Danger. Your team consists of two non-transferable characters, instead of the four or more different classes found in most RPG games. The game also has no plowing because “character levels are balanced throughout the journey.”

These adjustments made it impossible for the developer to put Iron Danger in a certain category. So, the studio decided to vote publicly to see what genres players voted for. In the end, the result was a strategy RPG game, due to the combination of turn-based strategy and real-time action, but the developer thought the game was more about adventure, action, RPG and puzzle. The environment in Iron Danger combines a steampunk fantasy world with Finnish mythology.
