The new Resident Evil animated series is coming to Netflix in 2021. Last Sunday, Capcom and Netflix announced Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness at the Tokyo Game Show starring Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
Capcom describes Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness as an “animated CG series” of action-horror horror. “By adding macabre elements to the action sequences, the series brings together a Resident Evil world that has never been seen before.” The first teaser trailer doesn’t say anything more than confirm the above.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, longtime producer of the Resident Evil series and producer of three 3D animated films: Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: Damnation, and Resident Evil Evil: Vendetta. TMS Entertainment will be producing the animation, while Quebico is responsible for the 3D CG animation.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is one of two Resident Evil projects in development for Netflix. Another project, a live-action film, will focus on Jade Wesker and Billie Westker; is said to be related to the STARS captain and the main antagonist in Resident Evil – Albert Wesker.
Capcom is also developing a new installment to the series, titled Resident Evil Village for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X 2021.
