Playing Co-op in Wasteland 3 is as simple as choosing Multiplayer from the main menu and inviting a friend. You can also choose to publish your game in a public browser or connect directly via your friend’s IP to your PC. Just keep in mind that this game doesn’t allow cross-play on PC and Xbox One, so you’ll both need to be on the same platform.

Once you’ve linked up with a friend, you can choose to start a new game or load a save, and then choose the difficulty. If you start a new game, each player will customize their Ranger before arriving in Colorado. If adding a save to the game where you have more than 2 characters, the host will need to split them through the party manager. The host can choose the character and number of characters each player controls. In case you’re playing with a player new to the Wasteland 3 world, you can let them control 1 or 2 Rangers and lighten their load.

In most cases, the host of a Co-op session has control over other things like team formation, general chat options, and Kodiak controls. However, the host can give control to the guest if desired.
