Facebook Gaming has just launched Tournaments, a new feature that allows users to create or join a pre-made online gaming tournament.
The system covers the basics of tournament management, from registration, seeding, branching and even scores. The Facebook Gaming Tournament is open to everyone and can be linked to streamers’ livestreams.
Tournaments currently support three formats: single elimination, double elimination, and round-robin.
All three can be used for solo or team competition. The developer also plans to launch the Swiss format soon.
To create a tournament, all organizers need to:
- Log in to Facebook
- Go to the Gaming Video section and select the Tournaments tab
- Click “Create Tournament”, then “Add Tournament”
- Fill in the necessary information such as the game, the schedule, and the format of the competition.
- After adding the tournament, fill in the required information in the Tournament event.
- Click “Create” to finish.
Multiple individual games can be linked into a Tournament Event to create a grand event.
New Facebook Gaming feature to support #PlayApartTogether, a campaign promoting game-assisted isolation.
