Danish esports organization Astralis, best known for their CSGO roster, will soon be independent from RFRSH Entertainment – but they’re not the only party to split from the group.
Both Astralis and Origen of League of Legends will part ways with RFRSH. This announcement was shared by CEO Nokolaj Nyholm.
According to Nyholm, Astralis and Origen are currently operating under a new company called ‘RFRSH Teams’ – which will soon change to another name.
Nyholm also said that RFRSH will shift its focus to “BLAST Pro Series and other BLAST properties”, and asserted that “the tournament organizer and the team are separate from each other”.
RFRSH Teams is confident this change will bring “excitement from outside investors”, thanks to the successes of CSGO team Astralis and LoL Origen in the LEC 2019 last Spring.
Specifically, Nyholm said the RFRSH Teams mission has been going on for a while, admitting that the plan was prepared two years ago.
“Two years ago, after the esports team building phase, we talked about how tournament organizers and teams should not be co-owned,” and called Astralis a “unique, profitable business.” in the esports environment.”
For now, Astralis’ move to RFRSH Teams has been positive, with fans and players posting the good news on Twitter.
“Honestly I’m not shy about this,” wrote one fan. “…If the format stays the same as the previous majors and the team is not bound to participate, then it will be a great event.”
TBH I won’t mind it. Their production level is top level but their format and contracts ideas were cancer. If the format stays the same as previous majors and teams that are not invited are invited then it will be a great event.

Even Nyholm tweeted about the move, “RFRSH’s relationship with BLAST may have caused Astralis to ’tilt’ over the last few months, but RFRSH helped create the Astralis era by investing in them.”
Their relationship with BLAST might have tilted them the past months, but RFRSH helped create the Astralis era by investing in their sports performance ?♂️

With Astralis and Origen both separate, let’s wait and see how RFRSH Teams will work in the near future.
