Which CS pro team will benefit from Dust2

Map de_dust2 is officially back with improved graphics and some changes to the map structure. Professional CS:GO will experience new changes to the team’s map pool as offline events take place. Which team will benefit, which team will be at a disadvantage when this map slowly appears in the big arenas?

SK Gaming

SK Gaming previously played very well in the old Dust2 version, when playing with fnx. Thanks to being destroyed 16-0 by FNATIC – the team that won 6 consecutive offline tournaments – SK decided this was not the map for them. After winning the Major, the Brazilian boys decided to give Dust2 a second chance, to help them get rid of Cache – the team map that fell out of favor with the ‘weak’ TyLoo in the group stage.

Thanks to Dust2, SK was able to maintain a good track record and since then expand the map pool, especially when the nuke came back and they decided it wasn’t the map SK wanted to play. Inferno has long been a good map for the FalleN team, so picking Dust 2 or Cache will give the team a better chance against anyone in a BO3.

SK and boltz will certainly find success in the new Dust2. Team Brazil may not be as skilled as felps anymore: the previous roster shines on this map, the way they did in Cache, but fer’s initiative and play positions after bomb placement. make SK a strong contender for the best team Dust2 once this map comes back

FaZe

FaZe is one of the most skilled teams in Counter-strike history – they will win if their players get back to their prime. Therefore, dust2 is definitely the 4th map to be welcomed in our map pool list. But looking back, the ‘superstar’ team is not really comfortable in the cache map – it is also a map that is more about skill and skill like dust2. At times when Karrigan’s team won the cache, they didn’t really stand out when playing on the T side.

Either way, FaZe’s map pool will be hit hard as other teams focus on cobblestone, train and cache, surely FaZe will want to play in dust2 more. A simple ABC setup in dust2 will improve their chances of winning against opponents.

Astralis

Astralis is one of the most tactically intensive teams, so dust2 is not the optimal choice for teams like this. Dust2 easily causes Astralis to be overturned, and some explosive individuals on the opponent’s side can cost the team, instead of playing on other maps. However, with maps with underrated design and quality like dust 2, this can also be a map that will benefit teams that know how to coordinate well and play as a team, as it relies heavily on development. A team like Astralis can deploy more smoothly than others and on this map they can adapt quickly to changing calls in the middle of the round, as gla1ve can read the game when looking through double doors in the mid. . As can be seen, dust2 was potential in Astralis’ map pool before Inferno appeared – now Inferno is also their strong map. Astralis’ current roster has won 4 out of 5 matches on dust2. Their only loss came at the ELEAGUE Major against SK – the match SK used fox and Astralis lost at overtime.

G2

G2 has one of the best map pools around, thanks in part to their mastery of Mirage – apEX is now calling instead of shox. The French team has always been famous in CS:GO history with the dust2 map thanks to kennyS’s amazing AWP ability. With a team like G2, playing dust 2 will bring out the power of this AWPer, along with its ability to win force-buys in close-quarter gunfights.

Skill-oriented teams

Two teams that also clearly benefit from dust2 to add to their map pool are Cloud9 and mousesports. Both teams have similar players – focusing on individual skills and good AWP use. Dust2 will be a place for these teams to gain ‘flip’ points against stronger opponents and can add to their own map pool.

Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro has long hated dust2 since seven map pools became the norm in CS:GO. Before that, they usually ban Nuke, but the old version of Nuke has been removed and VP can switch to ban completely dust 2 – a map that has always been difficult for them. In 2 years between 2015 and 2016, VP only played dust2 a total of 14 times offline. Although they had a 9:5 record, those wins were against much weaker opponents.

Whatever the reason, dust2 has always been a problem for the Polish team and when this map was dropped in early 2017, a lot of people expected VP to be able to overwhelm the CS:GO world once again with 7 map pools easier to breathe. And it happened, VP won DreamHack Vegas, the first tournament without dust 2, but then their CS:GO career took its worst turn this year.

An ‘old’ Virtus.pro is still struggling with the current map pool, even with familiar maps like cobblestone and mirage, only nuke is effective for the team. However, with the return of dust2 and the possibility that one of VP’s strong maps will have to leave the game, the Polish boys will have a lot of problems in 2018.

North

North, while still under Dignitas, only played dust2 exactly 20 times offline and this map was always a problem for them. Even when the team wins against the top teams, they quickly drop their form and lose to lesser opponents. MSL put dust2 on their ‘must ban’ list for 2015-2016, except when they wanted to avoid playing against strong teams in Inferno.

Dust2’s departure from the map pool in 2017 made North a stronger team. The Danish team has switched to banning both train and cache, depending on the opponent they face. However, underperforming in big games means that victory is not a priority for the team no matter what the map pool is. And here’s what happened to North since k0nfig and magisk split after 2016.
