When will Apex Legends be available on Steam?

Electronic Arts will be bringing their titles to Steam once again, as well as their paid service EA Access. Starting November 15, the first game that will be available is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. But when will Apex Legends be available on the Steam platform?

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available for pre-order on Steam, and multiplayer games like FIFA 20 and Apex Legends are confirmed to launch on the platform soon.

Of course, Apex Legends is one of the most successful EA titles in recent years, loved by the community.

When does Apex Legends launch on Steam?

Not much is known at the moment when these games will be available on Steam, but according to an interview from Engadget, Mike Blank, EA vice president of player systems, said their key games – FIFA, Apex Legends and Battlefield V – coming in 2020.

EA confirmed on October 29: “Multiplayer games – like Apex Legends, FIFA 20, and Battlefield V – will be available together next year, and players from both Origin and Steam will be able to play together.”

They’re slated to launch with EA Access — available “next spring,” Blank said.

EA stopped selling new games on Steam years ago, to sell their own games on their Origin platform. This return will help them reach more players.

Apex Legends is EA’s hit game, reaching 50 million global players in just 28 days, once challenging Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale.

The partnership between EA and Steam does not mean that EA games will no longer be available on Origin. Instead, they will also be available on Steam so players can play with friends on both platforms.

Apex Legends on mobile?

EA previously confirmed they were working on a mobile version of Apex Legends, but we haven’t had any further information since. If they’re planning to release the game on Steam in 2020, players can expect the mobile version to launch around this time as well.

Will Apex Legends support cross-platform play?

With Steam and Origin players able to play together in 2020, it’s also a positive sign that cross-platform play is also possible.

Respawn previously said that they want to go cross-platform in the future, but there has been no official confirmation yet if the team is developing that segment.
