What’s special about Minecraft 1.18 update?

What’s new in Minecraft 1.18 . update

Minecraft fans have been waiting for a cave update for a long time as underground dungeons haven’t had any major upgrades yet. The development team then listened to the fan community’s wishes and announced the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update at the Minecon 2020 event, introducing new 3D biomes, caves, blocks, mobs, alpine types and more. Mojang will also raise the world depth and height to -64 and 320 respectively. Bringing about such big changes is undoubtedly the biggest challenge they face.

Due to the global pandemic, their work on the project also encountered many problems. That’s why developers have to split the changes into 2 parts because it becomes impossible to introduce such a huge update. The first part of Caves & Cliffs (Minecraft 1.17) was released on 8/6 and the 2nd part also known as Minecraft 1.18 is expected to be released later this year.

New features of Minecraft 1.18

In part 2 of the Caves & Cliffs update, you’ll likely see the rise of the Warden, a terrifying new hostile mob. This is the first mod without eyes in the game. Warden will sense the player’s presence by vibration, movement. Therefore, defeating Warden in Minecraft is an extremely difficult challenge.

For Minecraft 1.18 update, Mojang also promises to bring a new mountain and cave biome. In fact, we will have 5 new mountain biomes and 3 new cave biomes.

Mountain biomes:

– Snow covered slopes
– Small forest
– Mountain grasslands
– Snow-covered mountain peaks
– High mountain peaks

Cave biomes:

– Lush Cave (roughly translated lush cave)
– Deep Dark Cave (roughly translated as deep dark cave)
– Dripstone Cave (roughly translated stalactite cave)

Additionally, the update will also add large ore veins, Sculk blocks, and more. Mojang will soon launch a Snapshot version of Minecraft 1.18 for players to experience the new features first.
