Last Stand is an important mechanism you need to know when playing Axie Infinity. Let’s find out with Download.vn everything to know about Last Stand in Axie Infinity Please!
Matches between Axies are filled with fun and excitement thanks to randomly generated mechanics, such as critical strikes. In close combat, luck plays a huge role in deciding who will win.
One of the trivia mechanics is Last Stand, which allows the dying Axie to perform a few extra moves before actually collapsing.
Everything you need to know about Last Stand in Axie Infinity
What is the Last Stand in Axie Infinity?
When an Axie is hit by a critical hit (reduces HP to 0), it can enter the Last Stand. At this point, it has a chance to use some more skills before it dies completely and is eliminated from the match.
Last Stand is represented by the red flame effect surrounding Axie. That pet will also have 1-3 red bars at the top, indicating how many Last Stand ticks it has.
Here’s an example of a match where both teams entered the Last Stand:

When does an Axie enter the Last Stand?
To decide which Axie will enter the Last Stand, Axie Infinity uses the following formula:
- Excess Damage = Critical hit damage – Axie’s remaining HP
- Morale Modifier = (Axie’s remaining HP x Morale) / 100
If the Morale Modifier is greater than the excess damage on the finishing hit, Axie will enter the Last Stand.
Basically, the Last Stand formula tells us:
- A high Morale Axie, the higher the chance to enter the Last Stand.
- When hit by a critical hit, Axie’s HP is close to zero, the less chance it has to enter the Last Stand.
- The higher the critical hit’s damage, the less chance the dying target has to enter the Last Stand.
Eg:
- Your Beast Axie has 61 Morale and 110 HP left.
- Enemy Axie attacks your Beast Axie with a critical hit that deals 160 damage.
Apply the above formula to see if your Axie can enter the Last Stand as follows:
- Excess Damage = 160 -100 = 60
- Morale Modifier = (100 x 61) / 100 = 61
Since the Morale Modifier is 1 point higher than the excess damage, your Beast Axie will have a chance to enter the Last Stand.
How to increase Axie’s chance to enter the Last Stand
The higher the Morale stat Axie has, the greater the chance of entering the Last Stand before dying.
In the example above, if Beast Axie had only 57 Morale, it would not be able to enter the Last Stand after taking its final damage. This is a good example of how important a few points in the stat attribute are and why purebred Axies are often better and more valuable.
Beast and Bug-type Axies usually have higher Morale than other species. Their bodies also provide +3 Morale. Therefore, the more purebred these Axies are, the better chance they have of entering the Last Stand.
How to prevent enemies from entering the Last Stand in Axie Infinity
Based on the above formula, to block an enemy from entering the Last Stand, aim to get the enemy’s HP as close to zero as possible before you hit your critical hit.
Also, try to choose the right order to use cards so that the last attack deals great damage. This action will reduce the chance for the enemy Axie to enter the Last Stand, especially if it is in a class with high Morale.
Another method is to use a card that has the effect of blocking the opponent from entering the Last Stand.
