When Battlestate Games implementation Twitch drop campaign for survival shooter Escape from Tarkovthe game has quickly become one of the top games on Twitch. Players flocked to watch channels live stream Escape from Tarkov in hopes of getting valuable gear, and this quickly made Tarkov the most watched game on Twitch. Going forward, Battlestate Games is preparing to launch a second Twitch drop campaign, but the rewards this time seem less attractive.
The campaign still works the same way the first time: players need to link their Battlestate Games account to their Twitch account and watch Tarkov livestreams of channels marked “Drops Enabled”. After that, players just need to wait for the reward to return to their pocket the next time they log into the game.
However, the rewards in this event are no longer valid as before. In Tarkov’s latest patch, the publisher has wiped out all player character progress and introduced a mechanic called “found in raid”. Currently, items traded on the in-game store need to have the status line “found in raid”. This means that the player must pick up the item while playing – and there are many ways to make the item lose its status.
The update changed the way item purchases work in Tarkov. Players who buy and resell items from NPCs at exorbitant prices are now restricted, and also control the number of bots and real money trading accounts. But that also means gear from the Twitch drop event will be devalued.
Some items from the first Twitch drop campaign can be sold for a high price, but this time the items received will not have a “found in raid” status, the player will have to accept the NPC price pay for these items, even if it’s a particularly rare piece of equipment. Of course, players can choose to use the equipment they receive and don’t care about its value.
