With superior strength and smooth coordination, Virtus.pro surpassed ViCi Gaming 3:1 to claim its second ESL One Major title and the 2018 ESL One Katowice trophy.
Heading into the first ESL One Katwoice 2018 tournament, pundits and fans are looking forward to how Virtus.pro will come out with their new lineup. After deciding to trade Lil for Na`Vi’s Rodjier earlier, people were worried whether VP would have enough time to prepare for the tournament.
The CIS team quickly cleared all doubts with their superb teamwork and performances. Against ViCi Gaming in the finals, the team claimed a $400,000 bonus and 750 DPC points as easy as ‘shopping’. After winning the 2017 ESL One Hamburg title, 4th in the DotaPit Minor, 3-4th at the MDL Major and winning the Dota Summit 8 Minor, VP is now at the top of the DPC leaderboard with 4950 points.
Game one
In the opening match of BO5, Virtus.pro quickly took control of the match. After many kills in favor of VP, the CIS team started to widen the gap in the mid game. With a wide map view, VP knows all of Vici Gaming’s ‘moves’ to easily catch cards and fight back, giving them an advantage. Taking the whole scene and executing flawlessly from start to finish, Virtuspro took a neat win to kick off the championship run.

Game two
The second game becomes more balanced as the two sides constantly change lives and towers. Again, more vision and team fights are key to VP’s success and victory. Similar to the first game, in the middle of the game, the CIS team started to put pressure and won the second in just 25 minutes, extending the score to 2-0.
Game three
Being cornered, ViCi Gaming was forced to give their best if they didn’t want to leave early. Ensuring all combat phases have the advantage with reasonable positions, this time, VG started to take the lead. With creative combos and the necessary initiative, ViCi Gaming did not let the opportunity slip away and beat Virtus.pro in the third game at 27 minutes to raise hopes of turning the tide.
HUGE DREAM COIL COMBO!!!@ViCi_Gaming with the 4-man Coil into 4-man Blinding Light!

Game four
In the fourth game of the final, ViCi Gaming tried to attack first but the advantage was quickly taken by Virtus.pro thanks to strong team fights. Trying to create space for Terrobalde, VG is forced to engage in unfavorable teamfights if they want to close the gap and survive in the game. The price to pay for this trade-off is too high. Virtus.pro is still too strong for them to beat.
Mission accomplished! #ESLOne pic.twitter.com/bPcBujRbKY
