After nearly a decade of waiting to determine the proper doneness of a steak, one player decided it was time to “claim” the missing reward. This person shared his displeasure in a post on Reddit titled “I know this is probably not the right subreddit for this, but I should have gotten the steak from Bungie in 2011, but that never happened.”
The post read: “Halo Reach used to run a Bungie Day event: those who can beat Bungie employees will receive a bungie.net medal and a steak in the mail. I won a Bungie team and went online to check if I had a medal. I received it and the medal is still present (stored in Halo Waypoint). It’s been almost 10 years and I don’t know if someone can help me get the steak?”
Of course, the Halo community supported this person. Although people were skeptical at first, Bluepenguin053 posted a snapshot of the evidence and the event website, Bungie vs. The World Steaktacular is actually still in the works.
One Reddit user commented that I’ve seen people post pictures of their steaks, but they didn’t look appetizing. Even so, Bluepenguin has waited 9 long years and it’s time to claim the reward it deserves.
Commenters tagged the admins of the Halo subreddit to see if they could resolve the issue with Bungie. However, Halo is currently owned by 343 Industries so maybe Bungie couldn’t even afford the steak.
