Valve starts sending out invitations to the Artifact beta next week

Artifact is entering the next phase of the remake plan, which is closed beta. Valve just announced on the game’s blog.

The developer of Artifact has introduced the upcoming tweaks to the game in a blog posted weekly from a month and a half ago to the present. These include shop changes, hero rework, and new cards. And now it’s almost time for players to experience Artifact.

Valve has confirmed invites for the new beta will begin next week, only to those who purchased the original Artifact. The developer recommends that those who meet the criteria keep an eye on their email inbox for instructions on how to sign up for the beta.

This system of sending invites is intended to be random, which means it will not be affected by the amount of hours played. “Participation in Beta will continue to be closed until we work with registered players of the original,” Valve said. “Communication about the game will remain open throughout the Beta.”

Valve also spoke about concerns surrounding the new beta process. The company says testing “gameplay, balance, heroes, colors, social features, card opening, ranked play, replays, match tracking and campaigns” are among its priorities. While the social features are still experimental, Valve says most modes like “tournament and draft mode, except Hero Draft”, will not be available until the number of beta participants increases. .

Due to the initial beta for older players, Valve said the tutorial will be turned off. But they believe the campaign mode can “warm up” old players.

Valve also said that the beta may contain many bugs. Gameplay can be reset, which can be a big obstacle for those who want to sign up for the beta. The developer emphasizes that the process of sending invitations will be random, and even if you are a streamer, it will not increase the probability of attending.

The first beta of the original Artifact started in 2018 and one of the main criticisms of the game was that it only featured streamers and famous faces. In addition, this new beta will not be limited to streaming or sharing, just like the original beta.

Specifically about the invitation system, Valve said they will prioritize players who purchased the game before March 30, 2020. Therefore, buying the game now will not help you jump into the first wave of invitations.

Valve also said that they won’t be monetizing the game with cards or packs while reminding fans which cards can be opened in the gameplay of the new Artifact.
