Valve claims Steam Deck doesn’t get bored with any PC games, aiming for 30 FPS

Valve claims that it has not yet found a “competitor” for the Steam Deck, every game it can fight at least 30 FPS, including the newly released AAA game.

Recently Valve shared a bit about the actual performance of the Steam Deck, that it doesn’t get bored with any game at the moment. Steam Deck developer Pierre-Loup Griffais said more specifically that all PC games today can be well “balanced” by the Steam Deck, at least 30 FPS on its 800P monitor.

He also shared before that Valve has also tested many prototypes before, they can play PC AAA games smoothly but must be old games released a year before. This is the first time that Steam Deck hardware can smoothly balance the latest AAA games. Maybe 30 FPS every game isn’t a big deal for PC, but hitting that goal is an achievement for a small handheld console like the Steam Deck.

Hardware engineer, Yazan Aldehayyat said that one of the most important factors making the Steam Deck’s strength is Valve’s policy of using the latest generation hardware. It is equipped with CPU and GPU both of the latest generation of AMD architecture, the state-of-the-art LPDDR5 RAM.
