Twitch already lock account of the former US president indefinitely in early January after his supporters stormed the Capitol. In addition, the livestream platform also decided to update the policies after considering the above situation.
In a statement sent to media outlets, Twitch said: “Statements by Trump can be understood in terms of inciting violence and we’re working to eliminate the potential for harm to the Twitch community and the general public. Events over the past few weeks have made us aware of a loophole regarding statements that promote violence, whether streamed on Twitch or not appearing on the platform. So we decided to update our policies.”
Former President Trump got his Twitch account locked last year after a protest, in which he claimed that Mexico was sending rogue elements to the United States without proof.
Donald Trump is the first US president to have his Twitch account blocked twice and also the first president to be banned from operating on the platform.
