Riot Games is trying to surpass Valve in the auto chess war when it announced to bring the Teamfight Tactics to iOS and Android devices.
Teamfight Tactics is a mode in League of Legends. But that will soon change when this mode launches on mobile devices.
“Since the launch of Teamfight Tactics, gamers have always asked us to add a mobile version of the game,” Riot said.
The Truth Arena on mobile will be completely cross-playable with the PC version. Several “beta” releases will take place in December of this year, with the final release due in 2020.
“We launched Teamfight Tactics earlier this year with the hope that you would love it, and the team was overwhelmed by the player feedback,” a Riot representative shared in the video. “We will continue to invest in TFT (Truth Arena) in the coming years. TFT will always focus on strategy and exploration.”
What else will the arena of truth change?
With season 2, this mode will have more changes:
- Add New Arena
- More Little Legends
- Seasonal set, will rotate champions out and “uniquely rotate” current favorite champions. The first season will be titled Rise of the Elements (roughly translating the rise of the elements), releasing in three weeks.
- The new units will take all skins from League of Legends and characters created in the game in the past 10 years.
With Teamfight Tactics coming to mobile, Valves will lose the advantage they had with Dota Underlords. Along with the mobile game, Riot Games also announced the card game Legends of Runeterra, a first-person shooter project (temporarily called A) for PC and the Aracne cartoon of League of Legends.
