A shooting clan has called for help in the museum’s tribute to real-life characters that inspired several games. Easy Company 506th PIR is a shooting clan in tribute to the US 101st Airborne Squadron during World War 2. Nicholas Collins (ignore name Winter5427) – the leader of the clan shared: “One of our members told about this museum. Hotel Hartenstein in Oosterbeek, Netherlands, is a museum dedicated to the Allies in Operation Market Garden during World War II. COVID-19 pandemic caused heavy damage to the museum. “The museum’s revenue has fallen by as much as €300,000 in the current period.”
Upon hearing the news, the players of clan Easy decided to help. They created the fund donations GoFundMe and quickly hit the original €2,000 goal. The new goal of the fundraiser is €5,000, and now the developers of several World War 2 themed titles, as well as several other shooter clans have joined the donation campaign.
Collins was deeply moved by everyone’s hearts: “We didn’t think the money could grow so quickly. I think this will be just our own business, that of the Easy clan only, who can? I suspect that all clans, developers and communities are involved. The list of donors is getting longer and longer, it’s hard to list them all.”
Clan Easy has raised funds for a community based shooter game on the same theme, and now other players can help out. Clan members are hosting a 24-hour livestream to raise awareness of the game, sharing materials from the museum, interviews with the museum curator, and with a World War 2 veteran. Viewers have a chance to receive a key Hell Let Loose and Post Scriptum while watching the livestream. “We’re going to be doing artifact shows and historical narratives about the museum so those who can’t or haven’t been there can learn more about the place,” Collins said.
Donors can also contribute to the above GoFundMe campaign. Clan Easy has also partnered with Hell Let Loose developer Black Matter, Post Scriptum developer Periscope Games, as well as several clans from other tactical shooters and community groups to host events in games this weekend. Players can register for these events here. Additionally, a charity auction of the last hoodie from developer Post Scriptum will also be held.
