Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) is a historical animated film written and directed by Miyazaki Hayao, released in the summer of 2013. The film is inspired by Miyazaki’s own manga series, featuring titled “Kaze Tachinu”, and a novel by author Tatsuo Hori. The story in this movie revolves around Jiro Horikoshi, the Japanese designer who created the famous Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter aircraft during World War II.
