As reported by VGC, these files are most likely the reason Rockstar removed the PC version from the Rockstar Games Launcher right after some modders checked the data and found files with the term “Hot Coffee” in the trio. Rockstar notes that this is done to “remove files that were accidentally included in the GTA Remastered trilogy”.

Back when GTA: San Andreas was first released in 2005, there was a mod on the internet called “Hot Coffee” that allowed gamers to unlock a minigame with 18+ content of GTA: San Andreas when the game played. Players can control the main character CJ “rainy clouds” with his girlfriends. Because this minigame can only be activated when CJ’s relationship with his girlfriend is high enough to be invited into the house for coffee, this mod is called Hot Coffee.

Immediately, not only the gaming community but also those operating in the game industry simultaneously “went on a fever” rushing to find this mod at that time. When the darkness of public opinion could not continue to hide its existence from the authorities, this lawsuit officially began with the victim, the parent company of Rockstar Games, Take Two Interactive.

After this scandal took place, the publisher Take-Two immediately fell into a large lawsuit from shareholders. Although the Hot Coffee mod was created by an outside hacker group, this 18+ minigame was written by the developer Rockstar himself, and the other mod only has the task of unlocking.

The Hot Coffee mod controversy was a PR nightmare for Take Two, as it resulted in GTA: San Andreas being dropped from some regions and even reclassified as a ‘people-only’ title. great’. Take Two also had to spend nearly $20 million on legal fees. Rockstar eventually had to release a new version with the Hot Coffee files completely deleted.
