An 11-year-old boy from Handan, a city in northern China, jumped out of a five-story 15-meter-tall building with his 9-year-old sister. The reason is extremely tragic according to the logic of the children is to see if they can “heal” back to life like in the game.

The boy said the reason he and his sister jumped out of the building was to test if they could fly or come back to life as characters from both games. As this boy put it, “no matter how many times you fall in Mini World, you will never die.” Of course, the two did not wear any protective equipment when dancing. The story only ended when parents discovered both lying motionless on the street. Fortunately, both were treated in time, although the damage was not light. Their family conditions are also not very good when the surgery costs have to be borrowed from relatives and called for charity online.

According to the father – Mr. Shen, each day, his two children have to spend more than 8 hours playing Game for Peace and Mini World. They are only young students, so many problems and awareness are extremely limited. The family believes that the developers should have set stricter age restrictions and game time rules for underage players.

However, it has to be said again and again, that the rules are set, but how can developers manage it all. The main responsibility still lies with the parents when they do not control their children tightly, letting them play games incessantly. Before blaming others, perhaps parents should also reflect on their own responsibilities.​
