Dylan Burns – Golf Story

There’s something comforting about being in a world where every problem can be solved with a swing of the club. Golf games are pretty much like racing games to me – I always feel like I’m excited to try them out, but rarely really get hooked. The golf part of Golf Story is also mediocre, but the RPG aspect of the game, with its bold narrative and petty problems to solve, provides for hours of fun.

Adam Rorke – Cuphead

It can be said that this is the Dark Souls of the 2D platformer series. Everything about the game, the gameplay, the graphics and the feeling of playing was right for me from the first meeting.

Like so many other names out there, this game has lived up to all the expectations it received. Cuphead offers many challenging experiences with great rewards, expressing its own personality through sound and image. I can’t stress enough that everyone should own this game.

One of the co-op games my family enjoys playing together on Nintendo Switch is Death Squared, and we’ve had a lot of fun together. Although you have to band together to solve puzzles, there’s a sense of humor and grit when you can “squeeze” your teammates, and the Death Squard strikes a balance between camaraderie and flying. his ally.

Matt Hewson – Hand of Fate 2

Hand of Fate 2 is a unique experience, better than the original in every way. The mix of action, RPG, and card-collecting genres turned out to fit together very well.

Sarah Ellen – Putty Pals

This game feels very carefree but at the same time very challenging, all in a tiny putty ball. This is a very beginner-friendly game on the Switch.

James Swinnanks – Pyre

With stunning graphics, inspiring soundtracks, a great story, and a diverse cast of characters, Pyre is one of 2017’s most unique and memorable video game experiences, and the choice mine for all-round game of the year. I’ve heard that Supergiant’s games often leave a very strong impression, and Pyre did just that. The combination of the insanely good soundtrack, colorful graphic style, and writing captivated me, and this gem of a game has always been fun throughout the plot.

Paul James – Steamworld Dig 2

Steamworld Dig 2 is one of the most complete displays of platforming and MetroidVania gameplay we’ve come across in years now. Thank you for another excellent journey from Image & Form.

Stevie McDonald – The Journey Down

I like point-and-click games – tapping whatever is on the screen and combining all sorts of things feels very comfortable. Add in excellent storytelling and stunning graphics and you’ve got The Journey Down series, which launched its third and final chapter earlier this year. As a fan, I feel quite sad to see this game finally come to an end.

Royce Wilson – Bomber Crew

Coming to Bomber Crew, despite having quite cartoonish graphics, the game still owns a very entertaining management emulator system.

Stephen del Prado – Yonder

Available on PS4 and PC, Yonder is one of the most relaxing games I’ve played this year because the game has no combat and has a very calming soundtrack. I regret not buying the physical version but buying the digital version of the game, and I can’t wait to see what the developer Prideful Sloth has in mind.
