After almost 11 years, MMO Tera will cease operations this summer. Publisher Gameforge explains in the blog post that the servers will be down on June 30 at 1am PST (3pm GMT+7) with the intention of being a developer Bluehole no longer able to provide content interesting enough to satisfy players.

“Unfortunately, we received the following bad news: developer Tera, Bluehole has decided to close the door game. After much deliberation, the development team in Korea has come to the conclusion that they are no longer capable of creating content that is interesting enough to keep players satisfied. As the last remaining publisher of Tera, we respect Bluehole’s decision and will also terminate the game’s operations.”

Gameforge is running several events permanently until the Server is down in the hope that players will at least be able to enjoy these final months in Arborea. The publisher explained in a FAQ that new account registrations, Tera Thaler purchases and Tera Club membership cards will all end on May 31.

Additionally, Gameforge will not issue refunds for accounts that have purchased Taler, although players will still be able to use the coins while the server is up. Players in possession of a Tera Club membership card that has not expired on June 30th can request a partial refund. Readers can see more information about frequently asked questions (FAQs). here.​
