Last week, Telltale Games shocked the gaming community when the studio cut the vast majority of staff, and the studio was preparing to close completely. Not long after that announcement, many wondered what would happen to Telltale’s current games, especially The Walking Dead: Final Season, as the game neared the end of the series with the newly released chapter 1. It is rumored that the game will be stopped indefinitely, but the latest update from Telltale may save the game, so that players can say goodbye to Clementine officially.
Currently, the second chapter of the game is confirmed to be released, with the status of chapters 3 and 4 currently unknown. However, according to a tweet from Telltale on September 24, the studio said that after the launch announcement last week, many “potential partners” expressed their intention to help Telltale games complete The Walking Dead. Telltale did not reveal their identities but promised an answer soon.
“Many potential partners have expressed their help to see The Final Season complete,” Telltale said on Twitter. “While we can’t make any promises today, we are actively working to find a solution to allow chapters three and four to be completed and released somehow.”

While the future of The Walking Dead game is still unknown, fans are also kind of hopeful as Telltale and many other companies are looking to end the series properly.
The first chapter of The Walking Dead: The Final Season is out now on platforms, with the second chapter coming out on September 26.
