Remember Command & Conquer: Renegade? This is the changed game RTS Classic into a shooter, allowing players to become part of action commando units. Recently, Petroglyph, the studio recruited former development staff from Westwood – “father” of games like 8-Bit Invaders, Forged Battalion and Gray Goo, working on a new project called Earthbreakers.
Earthbreakers is a multiplayer game in which infantry squads compete for a resource called Vilothyte crystals, which can be used to build and upgrade bases, vehicles, and new infantry squads. It’s basically a real-time strategy game from the ground up, where units are protecting harvesters while they collect glowing resource stones.
The game offers players six available vehicles, 12 infantry squads and 11 constructions. Each team can consist of up to 32 players, depending on the map size. In addition, the maps also provide bot support along with a server run by the player. Earthbreakers is coming next year on Steam.
