Square Enix has announced up to 3 games related to the Final Fantasy VII universe.
It can be seen that although the Final Fantasy franchise is a huge name with more than 15 different parts, part 7 is still Square Enix’s darling. Recently, the Japanese game corporation has announced 3 more games that are set around this universe.
1. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
The first game is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which was released in the State of Play program.
Intergrade is the FFVII Remake version for the PS5 “air purifier”. Not only upgraded graphics, loading speed and guaranteed 60fps, Intergrade also comes with a DLC that tells the story of famous ninja Yuffie Kisaragi and Sonon Kusakabe – a new character created for the game.
Owners of FFVII Remake on PS4 will receive Intergrade completely free, but you will have to pay a small amount to be able to play Yuffie content, according to Square Enix.
2. Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
The battle royale third-person shooter genre has been getting a lot of attention in recent years, so it’s no wonder Square Enix follows suit.
FF VII: The First Soldier is a battle royal third-person shooter game for iOS/Android. There is not much specific information about the game yet. However, according to the title, the game will focus on SOLDIER, the upgraded group of warriors that play a key role in the story of FFVII.
In an interview with Final Fantasy VII series director Tetsuya Nomura, he suggested that the game won’t be story-heavy. In terms of gameplay, players will be able to play solo or in teams of three. In addition, the game will also incorporate RPG elements into the battle royale formula.
3. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis
FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS Teaser Trailer
Last but not least is FFVII Ever Crisis. Similar to The First Soldier, Ever Crisis is also aimed at mobile gamers.
Based on the published trailer, we can see that this game will synthesize the entire timeline of the FFVII universe (FF VII, Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus).
What is especially notable is the graphic design and gameplay side of the game. When exploring the map, the characters will have a petite shape, but when fighting, the characters will use their model in FFVII Remake. Combined with the game owning turnbase JRPG gameplay, it can be said that Ever Crisis is the remake version that resembles the original FFVII as much as possible.
Director Tetsuya Nomura also suggests that players will be able to meet a younger version of Sephiroth: “It goes without saying that you’ll witness the early days of a legendary hero when he’s young. ” The director also said that the game will be released in monthly installments and will feature a battle system more like the original game.
