Summary of PUBG 1.0 – The official update will air tomorrow

Last week, a major patch was updated to the test server of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). This update includes a lot more than just the Miramar desert map.

In the PUBG development log, the development team recounted their journey from Pre-Alpha to 1.0: They started developing the game at the end of March 2016, then did a pre-test. alpha in July. After only a year of development, the game was released on Steam Early Access in March 2017, which led to PUBG Corporation splitting from Bluehole to focus more on PUBG. More new areas for the map, new weapons, new animations and more were added throughout the game’s Early Access development.

One of their top priorities right now is to fix a bunch of server and connection issues. The development team also admitted that they did not expect that the game would encounter such a serious situation of hacking and cheating. Going into the details of the update, PUBG has been redesigned in terms of the waiting room system and interface. However, a few options in the menu are hidden because they are still in the process of being finalized. We will be able to unlock those options when the game launches on December 20, officially out of Early Access, as they announced at The Game Awards.

Map Miramar has 2 types of weather: clear sky and dawn. Depending on the weather, players have separate tactics because the weather greatly affects the player’s in-game vision. The old map Erangel has weather patterns such as morning, rain, sunset, clear sky, and fog.

As for items, they have added 3 weapons exclusive to Miramar which are R45, Win94 and Sawed-Off (barreled shotgun). The R45 is a pistol that replaces the R1895, exclusively for Miramar. This pistol has a higher accuracy and a faster reload rate than the R1895. The Win94 is an effective mid-range rifle, while the Sawed-Off is a close-range shotgun that can fire continuously for 2 shots. They also added a new Ghillie suit for the airdrops. There are no new weapons that can only be obtained in the airdrop.

Regarding the sniper rifle, the damage of Kar98k and M24 has been increased, and the damage of AWM has been reduced. Additionally, the damage multiplier to humans has been increased to 10% for all sniper rifles. Overall, sniper rifles are a bit more powerful than before.

Not only new weapons, but also new types of vehicles. Vans (“bread” vehicles), pickup trucks and a new type of canoe called Aquarail have been added to the map. It’s time for you to explore these new vehicle types and use them for your tactical and gameplay purposes.

Another big change is the ability to heal in the car with a bandage and in the water. The driver cannot heal himself, and the healing can also be canceled if there is a sudden change in speed, a collision, or a rollover. Therefore, if you are injured during the battle, you should give up the driver’s seat to your teammates to heal.

If you enjoy playing first person (FPP), this is the update for you. The position of the gun in FPP mode has been lowered depending on the scope and gun accessories. At the same time, when driving in FPP mode, the camera is also in a more reasonable position.

The interface has been taken care of in this update, the health bar is easier to see, making it easier for players to keep track of the remaining health. Health bar will turn yellow when below 50% health, red when below 25% and flash red when below 10%.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, they also released details of the second patch for the 1.0 Test Build. The test server will be open until December 20, which is the release of update 1.0. Also, Erangel and Miramar will both be playable but will be randomly selected at the start of the match. Furthermore, they also added Miramar’s new Aquarail and Ghillie suits to Erangel’s airdrop.
