Summary of CS:GO transfer period after ELEAGUE Major Boston

The ELEAGUE Major: Boston helped CS:GO kick off a busy new year. But it was also the end of this tournament that created a new domino effect, causing a lot of teams to change their lineups.

Cloud9 won the Major against heavyweight contender FaZe to become the first North American team to lift the Major Cup. After the tournament ended, teams in North America and Europe quickly “changed blood”, as the Valve Major’s roster lock rule no longer limited roster changes.

With many teams, it is clear that they cannot match the tactics and strength of Cloud9 and FaZe. To improve the situation, teams often aim to exchange players. All with one common goal: to become the strongest team in the world.

Here is a summary of what happened after the last Boston Major.

Europe (EU)

The biggest change in Europe is the fact that the Danish stars are taking turns joining North, Astralis and OpTic Gaming. Virtus.pro is also involved in this ‘blood change’ process. They are no longer the team with the longest roster history in CS:GO. As for the other teams, it looks like everyone is trying to get back to their best form to prove themselves in offline tournaments soon.

North America (NA)

Liquid and OpTic are the two teams that have changed the most in North America, both taking bold steps to find players outside of the region. But for many other teams, this is more like a transition period – a period for them to develop into a new force in the international arena.
