Still selling like hot cakes despite having the most “broken” game of the year

This week, retailers have started offering deals discount deep Anthem make the game of BioWare dropped to extremely low prices in less than eight months of release. However, this is still one of the most successful games of 2019, in terms of sales in the US.

The NPD tracking team says Anthem is the title best selling game fifth in 2019 on the US market. Right behind Mortal Kombat 11, Kingdom Hearts 3, Madden NFL 20 and The Division 2. According to the August report, Anthem even trails Resident Evil 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V.

The data above doesn’t include digital sales on PCs by Madden, Anthem or Division 2, but it does show that despite being “bricked” by players, BioWare’s shooter has enjoyed some success – by comparison. with other titles released in 2019. August is the time when game sales are at their lowest level in the past 20 years, but total sales in 2019 are now close to 2018.

It’s undeniable that from a rather lackluster launch, Anthem can deliver a quality gameplay experience in future updates. Sustained sales are driving BioWare and EA continue to upgrade the game.

Earlier this year, the NPD reported that Anthem was, in fact, the best-selling game during its February launch. The game has the second highest sales of all BioWare games, just behind Mass Effect 3.​
