Startled Marvel’s Avengers will update 18GB on the first day of release

Crystal Dynamics confirmed a few final pieces of information during the release of Marvel’s Avengers. Like many big games today, Marvel’s Avengers will have a major update on the first day of launch.

In the blog post, the developer said the update is about 18GB and will fix bugs left in the game, add tweaks made in response to beta, as well as some language options. All players must download this update even if they are not playing online.

Marvel’s Avengers requires an internet connection at first launch, but players can play offline after that. The 18GB update has been included in the digital version of the game. However, the developer did not mention preloading at all.

Servers and updates will officially launch on September 1 – this is also the time when the Deluxe version of the game is released. Crystal Dynamics explains that “Everyone will have to wait until the server goes live on September 1 to start playing. The servers need enough players for the matchmaking system to work properly and provide a full experience.”

Players who own the game disc can pre-load the update from September 1. This is also the date of the live broadcast of the session. War Table Next, the developer will provide more information about the game’s progression system and reveal a new superhero. Marvel’s Avengers is out September 4th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.​
