Apex Legends Shroud

Shroud explains why he could take a ‘permanent’ break from Apex Legends to return to PUBG

Despite a very successful debut attracting many big-name streamers, Apex Legends will need to change if they are to keep one of the most popular streamers, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek.

Shroud, formerly a professional CS:GO player, turned to streaming when his channel quickly became famous thanks to PUBG.

Since then, Battle Royale has become the kind of game he plays every time he streams, and when Apex Legends came out, he attracted a huge number of viewers in the first month of the game’s release.

Apex Legends is on a downward trend

Like any game, the craze at launch has waned. And with Apex Legends, famous streamers no longer play this game much, including Shroud.

After his motorcycle accident, Shroud returned to PUBG and the survival game Escape from Tarkov. Although many viewers asked him to play Apex, shroud didn’t seem to be interested in the game.

On April 15, he finally re-entered King’s Canyon, but the server crashed with ‘slow motion’ and lacked engaging content compared to the last time he played. Shroud was forced to say: “I will play about 3 more games before quitting this game forever.”

“I would rather play PUBG – and that says a lot,” shroud explained. He confirmed that although PUBG is still having problems, it is still better than the current Respawn game.

It didn’t take long for shroud’s explanation to come to fruition, as in the next game, the server had a ‘slow motion’ error – causing the game to run at less than 100% speed.

While discussing why Apex is no longer appealing to him, shroud believes a ‘big patch’ can bring everyone back.

So is Apex Legends missing new content?

Respawn Entertainment promises to add more content in the future, but since its launch on February 4th, we only have one weapon and one new legend. Meanwhile, the number of decorations in the battle pass makes most players feel inadequate.

The map hasn’t changed at all since launch, and we don’t know if there are plans to change or if the game will have a new map.

Respawn is also having to divide its forces. With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming out in November, the studio is definitely entering a ‘sprint’ phase in time to launch their new Star Wars game.
